I have been a Boston Red Sox fan since 1997 when they acquired Knuckleball throwing starting Pitcher Tim Wakefield and the tremendous team captain catcher Jason Varitek. Tim Wakefield, believe it or not, really made me start liking the Red Sox.
It is hard to put into words but everything Mr. Wakefield does on the field gives me a sense of excitement and a form of originality unlike most pitchers who have to throw 100mph fastball.
The 11-year veteran just throws a 75mph knuckleball and fools the hitters, most of the time.
Who is your favorite Red Sox pitcher whether it’s currently or from the past?

My current favorite Red Sox pitcher is Jon Lester. His story just overwhelms me. He seems so down to earth and humbled by his experiences that it's hard not to love the guy. I've seen 4 Red Sox no hitters, and Lester's was the only one I was emotional about because I don't think that anyone deserved something like that more than him. I hope he turns into the full blown ace some predicted him to be... before the cancer.
All time favorite pitcher of my lifetime has to be Pedro Martinez. Shennanigans, game seven, and front office troubles aside, the man was, and still is, a pitching genius. There was a presence he had on the mound that I'm yet to see duplicated. He brought so many exciting moments to the Red Sox and their fans that causes me to classify him as unforgettable. It's too bad he couldn't win a ring here.
