Whatever that may be. Curt Schilling has been the most loyal and most dependable to the Red Sox organization since he joined the team in 2004. What Curt Schilling did through the 2004 post-season just comes to show that pitchers like Mr. Schilling come only once in a blue moon. Not many pitchers will pitch through the amount of pain that Schilling went through. Only a few names come to mind that could do something like that, besides Schilling (currently playing): Kevin Youkilis, Derek Jeter, Jon Lester, Jeff Francoeur, Carlos Zambrano and John MacDonald.
Whenever injured and whenever called up to deliver some heroics, Curt Schilling has always been there. Whatever it may be, Curt Schilling deserves whatever he asAndrew Moran's Boston Red Sox fan blog

Bartolo Colon used to be one of the game’s most dominant starting pitchers with the Los Angeles Angels and also signed one of the most lucrative deals but due to injuries, fatigue and just plain bad luck, all that was lost.
Over the winter break the Boston Red Sox signed Bartolo Colon to a minor-league deal, which I believe is the league minimum of $500,000? Colon started the year in the minor-leagues and was called up a few weeks ago and to say the least he has been very good. He has a 2.25 ERA with twelve innings pitched, eight strikeouts and two wins in two starts. He is an experienced veteran and a great addition to an already fantastic starting rotation. Watching Jon Lester on Sunday night throwing his first no-hitter of his career makes you feel safe and secure over the future of the Boston Red Sox. In just two years, two rookie pitchers, Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz, of the Boston Red Sox pitch no-hitters.

It’s safe to say that the Red Sox will always have a good pitching staff; the history proves that as well. In the following season of the Red Sox miraculous 2004 World Series run, the Red Sox really wore out their pitching staff. Defense: Julio Lugo, Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, Coco Crisp, Kevin Youkilis, Jason Varitek and when David Ortiz plays 1B during inter-league play he can play very well. Kevin Youkilis has not made in error at 1B in a million tries (okay, a little exaggeration). Defense is not the problem.
