Curt Schilling deserves it...

Whatever that may be.  Curt Schilling has been the most loyal and most dependable to the Red Sox organization since he joined the team in 2004.  What Curt Schilling did through the 2004 post-season just comes to show that pitchers like Mr. Schilling come only once in a blue moon.  Not many pitchers will pitch through the amount of pain that Schilling went through.  Only a few names come to mind that could do something like that, besides Schilling (currently playing): Kevin Youkilis, Derek Jeter, Jon Lester, Jeff Francoeur, Carlos Zambrano and John MacDonald.

Whenever injured and whenever called up to deliver some heroics, Curt Schilling has always been there.  Whatever it may be, Curt Schilling deserves whatever he as

Bartolo Colon used to be one of the game’s most dominant starting pitchers with the Los Angeles Angels and also signed one of the most lucrative deals but due to injuries, fatigue and just plain bad luck, all that was lost.

Over the winter break the Boston Red Sox signed Bartolo Colon to a minor-league deal, which I believe is the league minimum of $500,000?  Colon started the year in the minor-leagues and was called up a few weeks ago and to say the least he has been very good.  He has a 2.25 ERA with twelve innings pitched, eight strikeouts and two wins in two starts.  He is an experienced veteran and a great addition to an already fantastic starting rotation.  With Curt Schilling out of the line-up, Bartolo Colon would be a great piece to the

Those are the four main words that stand out when discussing the absolutely original dynasty of the San Antonio Spurs.  A lot of analysts and fans always compare dominant teams of now to past dynasties.  Can one compare the San Antonio Spurs to any other of the past?  Don’t think so! The San Antonio Spurs play as a team and do not really have any main all-star.  That is what makes the Spurs a unique team.  The Bulls had Jordan, the Lakers had Magic and the Celtics had Bird.  The Spurs have everyone else. After watching game seven between the Spurs and the Hornets really proves this.  Tim Duncan has not played in the playoffs like he usually does throughout the season but who stepped up?  Pretty much everyone else like Ginobili, Parker, Bowen, F

Watching Jon Lester on Sunday night throwing his first no-hitter of his career makes you feel safe and secure over the future of the Boston Red Sox.  In just two years, two rookie pitchers, Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz, of the Boston Red Sox pitch no-hitters.

The Boston Red Sox have the most diverse pitching staff in baseball, next to the Los Angeles of Anaheim Angels (with a staff of Lackey, Escobar, Weaver, Rodriguez and Garland).  It’s safe to say that the Red Sox will always have a good pitching staff; the history proves that as well. In the following season of the Red Sox miraculous 2004 World Series run, the Red Sox really wore out their pitching staff.  Curt Schilling was injured, Derek Lowe was acquired by the LA Dodgers and their bullpen was in dir

Very unBeckettesqueSince Boston Red Sox’ number one ace Josh Beckett came back from his lower back injury, he has not been himself.  His record is (5-3), he has an ERA of 4.67 and a WHIP of 1.09 however, he does have fifty-six strikeouts.During his first campaign with the Red Sox he had terrible outings, his second stint with the Red Sox was pure genius and now his third outing has been a mix.  The reason why he has gotten most of his wins is because of the offense.Maybe Josh Beckett has not fully recovered from his lower back problems and he still has to work out his mechanics.  A great pitcher like Beckett should not have to do that though, look John Lackey.  He was out for nearly two months of the season and when he comes back, allows only one run on six h

Tuesday night’s game was more of a New Orleans Hornets win and not a Spurs loss.  The Hornets outplayed the Spurs on every aspect, they never let the Spurs get a decent shot and they never let the Spurs defend properly.  Again they outplayed the Spurs.Every time it seemed the Spurs’ Manu Ginobili or Tony Parker could end the bleeding with a three pointer or driving the lane, the Hornets came right back with an alleyoop or a West three-pointer.  A lot of analysts say the Hornets are inexperienced and young and can’t win the championship, well...Tuesday’s game really changed things around or did it?The Hornets have not won in San Antonio and like most NBA teams in the playoffs; it seems to be very hard for a team to win on the road this year (except for the Pistons).  As long as they continue to play this well especially with the defense and the mismatches on offense, they could beat the Spurs.

What else can the Red Sox do?After winning two World Series in four years, the question to ponder is: what else can the Red Sox do?  The team has all the right aspects and keys to a winning ballclub.  They have the offense, the defense and pitching in both starting and relief.  When breaking down the club maybe we can find the chink in the chain.Offense: When the two main sluggers of Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz are not performing others like Kevin Youkilis, Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, Mike Lowell and yes, even sometimes J.D. Drew, can perform. Just the other night J.D. Drew was clutch against the Minnesota Twins by knocking a RBI double center field.  Offense is not the problem.

Defense: Julio Lugo, Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, Coco Crisp, Kevin Youkilis, Jason Varitek and when David Ortiz plays 1B during inter-league play he can play very well. Kevin Youkilis has not made in error at 1B in a million tries (okay, a little exaggeration).  Defense is not the problem.
