I'm not going to dwell on anything involving the Patriots and their...issues. I'm done with all that. It's baseball season as far as I'm concerned. Spring training is dangling just around the corner. Pitchers and catchers report in 11 days, thank God, we need something to look forward to around here. Speaking of next year, looking at the roster compared to last year, they're almost identical. But why mess with the best? A lot of people are saying there's a possibilty of winning two back-to-back World Series, but its way too early to be talking about that crap. We still have Jacoby Ellsbury, who I cannot say enough good things about. He's already a local hero (thanks again for the taco) and I know a lot of you out there would've been pissed had he been involved in the Santana deal. The Red Sox don't really need anymore starting pitching, I know that a lack of pitching was our demise a couple Octobers ago, but this time we mean it. Beckett, Matsuzaka, and Wakefield, the 3 starting pitchers who stayed healthy year round, all had 20, 15, and 17 wins, respectively. I'm not complaining. add in a returning Schilling and a more developed Lester, and we've got ourselves a rotation.
Side Note: The Sox just sign Sean Casey to a 1-year deal to backup at first base. Bid your final farewells to Mr. Eric Hinske, along with his infamous faceplant.
