Melissa's Boston Red Sox Fan Profile

Who am I?

My name is Melissa and I'm 29 years old. I have lived in Massachusetts my entire life. I have always been a huge fan of the home teams, especially the Red Sox. I attended my first Sox game when I was 6, and that's where it all began.

The news about Schilling's shoulder injury was a little unsettling when announced, but shortly after eveyone breathed easier hearing he should be fine by the All-Star game.  But today we hear that his contract was not insured, and that the Red Sox medical staff were weary of him returning in the first place.

Schilling has no doubt been an asset to the Red Sox.  I recall seeing him in a commercial for Ford when he had just been signed. He was hitch hiking and when the driver asked where to, he replied, "I'm going to Boston to win the World Series".  At the time I thought, sounds great but that will never happen.  Curt has proven himself to be a leader and an influence of hope for the team.
