The Red Sox continued with their steady offense as the game went on. Youk hit another home run and Jed Lowrie contributed by hitting a bases clearing double. It’s great to see that the Red Sox finally had a big game like this, especially after that frustrating series against the Angels.
That brings us to today. Once again, Dice-K has thrown a lot of pitches early in the game. However, other than the two run homer he gave up, he’s pitching very nicely. If the game resumes, let’s hope our bullpen will continue its recent success.
Look for another update later tonight.
Post game notes
-Jed Lowrie has had another great game, going 1-2 (1 R, 2 RBI, BB) and his defense has been more than okay. If he keeps hitting the way he does, Lugo might have trouble getting back into the Sox line up when he’s ready to return.
-Baywatching: As we continue to watch Jason Bay get a feel for Fenway, he’s done nothing but please the fans. Eventually, as they mentioned on the NESN pregame show, this isn’t going to last forever. There is a chance that the pressure will eventually catch up to Bay, especially considering that he’s never played in the postseason…ever. However, we already know that Bay is no Manny Ramirez. We’re just happy to see a new left fielder come with such a good attitude. And yes, he does have a good bat.
Well, Tek just struck out so it looks like we’re back on! GO SOX!
