Questions from the fans

About  a week or so ago, ESPN had a poll that asked "who you were most sick of hearing on the news."  Choices included Brett Farve and Roger Clemens.  Right now (at least for baseball fans) I'm pretty sure Manny Ramirez trumps both those names.  Or maybe that's just for us who live in or around Boston.  I'll admit that I found it interesting that Manny had asked to stay with Boston right before the trade was made.  But even Jared Carrabis, Massachusetts Governor of RSN said that this was "pretty much irrelevant."  It's true.  Manny's gone and now we're moving on.

Granted, we’re moving on very slowly because people like me are still talking about him now.  Even yesterday, I was listening to WEEI and callers were saying how we need to stop talking about him.  Well, I think he’s right, but the way to stop talking about something is not by bringing the subject up.

This is not something that is really aggravating me, just something on my mind.  So now that we’ve started talking about him, I wanted to draw your attention to the “Red Sox mailbag.”  If you didn’t read this already, it’s what they call it on redsox.com where writer Ian Browne answers questions by us, the fans.  If you do not usually read the “Red Sox mailbag,” I highly recommend it.  Anyway most of the questions this week were all about Manny, but they weren’t the “oh my god stop talking about it” type questions.  Some of them looked back on the series with the Angels and whether or not Manny’s attitude was a distraction.  Here’s the link if you’d like to check it out (again, I highly recommend it)

I personally think that the Angels are simply a team that scares the crap out of me.  They were already good before getting Texiera.  Now that they have them, that line up is a scary one.  Keep your eye on them – they might just be the best team in baseball right now.

That’s about it for now.  I don’t know what on earth I’m going to do with my extra hour before the game tonight, considering that the game doesn’t start til 8:10 PM.  But the pregame report will be on, which is usually a good tool to get you into game mood.

Post game notes:

-Ian Browne:  If you check out redsox.com a lot, you can find Browne’s articles right there.  He usually summarizes what happened during the games, as well as comments from players. One thing is for sure: the guy knows his baseball.
