Boston Red Sox vs Houston Astros

The last time The Boston Red Sox met the Houston Astros was at Fenway Park on June 13-15th, 2003. The Red Sox Swept the Astros in that series.

Hernandez vs Dice-K

Not much happened the first two innings. Pedroia gets a 3 run homer in the 3rd. 3-0 Red Sox.

Sean Casey is off his suspension and comes into the game in the 7th. The game started getting a little more exciting during the 7th. Pedroia gets a run in making 4-0 Boston.

In the middle of all the fun Rem Dawg starts making fun of a man who caught the ball with a glove. He said an adult shouldn’t use a glove only a child. I disagree. If someone wants to catch the ball with his glove so what? What does it matter how old he is? The guy was quite happy but then a little kid held out his hat for the man to give him the ball and the man didn’t. I didn’t like that. But who knows maybe he was bringing the ball back to his son who was sick at home. Leave the guy alone and let him enjoy his treasure.

Now in the 8th I started getting that sinking feeling again. Okajima gives up a home run. 4-1 Boston. Papelbon had to be brought in for the last out of the 8th. And he saves us again from more runs from the Astros.

The 9th Coco gets a hit, Pedroia walks then another walk and bases are loaded no outs. Cora makes the first out Lowell gets a double and 2 runs come in. 6-1 Boston. Youkilis gets a hit and bases are loaded again! The poor guy with his black eye but it doesn't stop him. Nothing stops Youkilis from playing. He gets hit with the ball more than anyone I've ever seen and he just keeps on going.

It seems we do our best in the ninth inning. We fizzle out here and leave the men on. The Astros come up but Papelbon saves the day again. Just like Mighty Mouse. (No offense just thinking of the song-“Here I am to save the day!!!!!!!!!!”

Sox win 6-1. Can we sweep them again…we’ll see.

I heard it was Hazel Maes last day. I wonder what happened there????
