On a day that marks history in Boston, the marathon and Red Sox didn't disspoint. Taking the four-game sweep over the Orioles was Boston. Things started early with the Red Sox as Dustin Pedroia knocked in the first run, and the Sox never looked back. They routed Baltimore 12-1.

With the Olympics dominating every cable channel I seem to turn to this week, I offer this analogy: Watching the Red Sox over the last seven days has been like trying to eat Jello with chopsticks.

To add to yesterday's post, neither Ibanez nor Washburn was dealt after they were claimed on waivers. According to the Post-Intelligencer, the Twins put in claims on both, and their waiver number was higher for Jarrod, while the Tigers claim was highest for Ibanez.

The long wait for a horse to take home racing's Triple Crown may soon be over. Big Brown didn't just win the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, he absolutely dominated them.
Quite simply, Big Brown is the most impressive horse I've seen in the twenty years or so I've watched the Triple Crown races. It's impossible to compare time periods, but if anyone can make a comparison, Secretariat's owner, Penny Chenery, would be as qualified to anyone. And Chenery has stated she's not sure Secretariat could hang with Big Brown. Brown's sprint speed down the stretch is unreal; he simply doesn't tire. If you can, watch the overhead camera angle from the Derby; jockey Kent Desormeaux is almost fighting to hold him back until the stretch. More so than any horse in recent memory, Big Brown truly loves to run -- he can't wait to be unleashed.

The arrest of a Boston Red Sox scout in a Port St. Lucie hotel was stuck at the very bottom of a story by Gordon Edes in the Boston Globe today; a sort of ‘Oh, and by the way, they arrested a Red Sox scout for ‘lewd and lascivious’ behavior.’ (Not an Edes quote).
