Ray Allen for 2.

Kobe with an Airball out of bounds. Celtics Ball

Ray makes a bad pass, Fisher loses the ball to KG, Rondo with a layup for 2, C's go up 3

Artest misses a 3

Perk with the rebound...brings the ball up, and loses the ball like Perk always does. Called for a offensive foul, and here comes Shrek

Pierce loses the ball under the basket, ball out, Celtics ball.

Garnett has 10 of the C's 16 points to start the game. Yeah, somebody poked the sleeping, uh, Big Ticket.

Sox are up 3-2 with Wakefield still pitching in the 8th. Good for Wake.

s officials not only directly impacted the course of the game, but they jeapordized the rest of the Celtics season. Now Perk has to be ultra-aware of his every move because one more Tech and he's suspended for a game. Perk, if you're going to get another technical, do me a favor and use it to just hit Dwight Howard square in the mouth. I'm talking about throwing a true hay maker. Forget Hack-a-Howard, just hit him square in the teeth and teach him what happens when you just swing your elbows around and knock out our Big Baby. Man-Child abuse will not be tolerated!

Sadly, this is the problem with the Celtics team. If Pierce had been in the same position at the end of regulation I would have trusted him more to get to the basket or to draw a foul. In OT, I think Pierce's age and past injuries catch up with him, and he simply does not have the stamina to take on a team by himself. Ray Allen should have taken the final shot. Ah well.

I'll say it again. Since Easter and the very first game of the Sox season...when the Celtics win, the Sox win.

Now the Celtics game went down to the last seconds, so it was only fitting that Papelbon would then wait until 2 outs, a 3-2 count, and runners on Second and Third to finally get his first strike out of the 9th inning.

Does anyone else love the fact that the Celtics were supposed to be the aging team? If Paul Pierce is old at 31, what does that make Shaq at 38?

King James has got to abdicate his throne. He will leave Cleveland and remake his image in New Jersey. There, he might change LeBron to Earl, or maybe Duke. That's about as loyal as fans will see him ever again. Wait, did I say loyal? I meant royal. He'll never be seen as Loyal to any fanbase again. People will see LeBron, and see hype. They will see a version of Sir Charles Barkley doing deodorant commercials. Funny, Sir Charles was presumptious enough to proclaim himself of noble birth, but he doesn't have any rings, either.

Meanwhile, the Celtics essentially played by themselves in Cleveland. Lebron was all but absent from this game. 0-4 in the first half. Staring off into the crowd during team time-outs. Appearing winded on the court. Removing his "protective arm sleeve" and still throwing up LeBrick after LeBrick.

Red Sox vs. Yankees. Celtics vs. Cavaliers in game 3 of a 1-1 series. Bruins vs. Flyers in possible series sweep.

There are so many story lines for this Friday night in Boston Sports.

Red Sox: You just swept the Angels. The Angels have problems of their own, being staked to a 4-0 lead after the ist inning thanks to the Dice-man's proclivity to gamble on his pitches. I understand that the Japanese strike-zone is different than MLB...but Dice-dude, you've been here 3 years now. I know you can speak English. You have to at least understand it, or else what exactly is V-mart and his own heavy accent conveying to you when he goes to chat on the mound after you walk 3 straight? What does John Farrell say while the umpire walks all the way out to the mound to break the conversation up. That's always a great way to get on the Ump's good side. Throw a ton of balls, and then make the Ump actually walk the 60'6" to the pitchers mound. In any event, the Sox offense again came up huge. The Angels certainly helped, but at this point we'll take whatever help we can get. On a 4 game win-streak, Bring on the Yankees!

Not me, and my faith was not in thanks to Buckholz. See, the Celtics had just closed out their series with the Heat (a game later than they should have, I know...) but as I said in my last post...ever since the very first night of the 2010 season, when the C's win, the Sox win.

Ever since Easter Sunday, whenever the Celtics and Red Sox have played on the same day, the fate of one team follows the other. Really, if I were a betting man, and I could find a person to take bets for games already in progress, I would have put money on the fact that the Sox were going to end up losing as well this Sunday afternoon against the Orioles, of all teams.

After a long weekend in Boston Sports Hell, (even the Celtics winning game 1 of their series with the Heat was a kind of loss with the Garnett suspension), Tuesday was a day of Miracles. Who had ever heard of Darnell McDonald? A man who waited 13 years to get his chance to make a difference on a big league team, and on his very first at bat, he hits a two-run home run to breathe life back into this Sox season. Then, the 31 year old rookie hit’s a Monster-scraping walk-off.

As we got closer, we realized that they were watching the end of the Celtics/Bulls game seven match-up. As we muscled our way into the crowd to get a better look at the screen, I noticed a sports-radio commentator for the Rays that was set up right near the entrance. No doubt the radio station's intention was to have this commentator discuss Rays baseball with a restaurant full of Rays fans, but this particular night they would have no such luck. The radio commentator was having a very difficult time hearing his radio callers over the cheers of excited Bostonians as the clock dwindled and it seemed apparent that the

The Boston Celtics have to tread carefully right now. Their mini skid has become a slide, and they've actually fallen behind the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference standings.

Sure the Men in Green are the defending league champions, but the chinks in their armor may eventually become gaping holes. The

This really highlighted the Celtics shortcomings. KG puts so much effort into both his offense and defense, that at times he overwhelms himself and just can't keep up with these younger forwards. The reason being, Stone Hands/ Cement Feet Kendrick Perkins is getting outrebounded, pump faked, and beat off mediocre turn arounds, left and right. KG has to get Perk's back. Ray Allen, although at times seems to be a sufficient enough defender, gets caught up in screens and lost underneath the hoop on backdoor cuts, which leads to KG getting his back. Paul Pierce, who defended like he did in his early years, is sometimes just not athletic enough to defend against the Joe Johnsons and LeBron James's. Thus this leads to KG stepping into the lane to get Pierce's back. Ultimately, KG is often defending 4-5 guys every time down the court. That's just unfair to expect him to do this for 40+ minutes.

oston fans have nothing to worry about.  With home court advantage throughout the playoffs the Celtics have the inside track to the NBA title.  I have never seen anything like this before.  Home court advantage is obviously important, it is why teams play the whole regular season and it’s why Major League Baseball puts it up for grabs every July in the All-Star game.  But I didn’t know that playing in front of your home crowd mattered this much.

East

Celtics-Hawks: Honestly, this is the only sentence I am writing about this series because it’s going to be an easy sweep.  Celtics in 4.

Cavs-Wizards: By far the most intriguing first round series in the East.  These two teams have met in the last two years and the Cavs have won both times.  LeBron owns this team but this year could be different.  The Wizards are finally healthy and have more confidence then they have had in the past.  They truly believe they can beat the Cavs, as evident by their comments last week stating they wanted to play Cleveland.  The LeBron’s are not as good this year as they were last year so this could definitely be the Wizards time.  With that said, I don’t see LeBron out in the first round.  Cavs in 7.

The Celtics had the night off. And the Bruins flat out took the night off.  Just when I thought it looked like the Bruins might have found their identity, they went back to skating on thin ice.  They lowly Maple Leafs drowned the B's 8-2. The Big, Really Bad Bruins seem to be back to their old habits, losing.  But luckily for me, I could care less.  I won a whopping $20 bucks in a poker game.

There was no way.  But Danny Did It.  Not "Flutie Did It"  Danny Did It.  The young and up and going nowheres were gone and replaced by a couple of Hall of Famers, Garnett and Allen, and a couple of cagey vets, House and Posey.  Add the Hungry Man, Paul Pierce to the mix, and Danny's got a pretty tasty TV dinner on the table.
