Ellsbury, Welcome Back! I bet it felt right patrolling Center again. With the way Hermida is hitting with runners on base, he can stay in left field, and you can have Center back. Cameron can take all the time he wants to come back from his ab strain. Cameron is better defensively than Hermida, but guess what...the Sox climbed above .500 in the W-L collumn when all those defensive stars fell to injury, and the offense came around. Runs win baseball games. 0-0 results in nothing besides extra-innings.

If you were saving your hits for the Rays series...I like your plan.

There are a lot of new personalities, and the chemistry is obviously still being tested. Ellsbury will learn he needs to go hard and call people off in Left field as often as he did playing Center. Given, he can't call off Cameron...but dear gods man, let the infielders know that you're in the area before you're already casting a shadow on your teammate. I understand the collision with Beltre, the two of you were running hard and watching the ball more than each other. All the same Yell. Make some kind of vocal announcement, even if its a Conan the Barbarian type roar. Pretend you're beheading someone and you might avoid having a teammates knee spear your chest.

Then Ellsbury once again arrived with the perverbial nail when he got his 34th RBI off a single to right. I guess Ellsbury wanted payback for Danks drilling him in the 6th inning.

ad but officially announced the designated hitter's return to his home base? Or should I talk about Ellsbury's three hits which gave him his first multi-hit game since July 9th? What about the fact that Pedroia can't seem to get through a game these days without getting a hit? Or the fact that in the middle of the press maelstrom that is Manny Ramirez, he still managed to get two doubles and two RBI's?

nother hit in the game, but it was a spark. And that spark caught fire last night. After Lugo, Ellsbury and Pedroia all singled to right in the bottom of the 8th, Lowell stepped into the batter's box and slammed Qualls' pitch into the green monster for a double that would get

There were 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th. Ellsbury was at the plate. And on a pitch-out, Coco stole 2nd base. Unfortunately Rays short stop Jason Bartlett blocked the bag with his knee. So while Coco was safe, he injured his left thumb on the slide when his hand made contact with Bartlett's knee. (It's now bandaged and we'll have to wait and see how bad the injury is.)

years, by far, but his bat left much to be desired and he was eventually bumped in favor of Jacoby Ellsbury in game 6 of the ALCS against Cleveland.
The list of prospective trade partners seems to be headed by Minnesota, which lacks a true center fielder after Torii Hunter left for the Angels. However, they might be willing to stand pat and let recently acquired Delmon Young and Carlos Gomez duke it out for the position.
