 It’ll be hard to forget.  

Other notes from the game: 

-Orlando Cabrera was also in line up (talk about irony).  He got a warm reception when he was introduced, as well as when he came up to the plate for the first time.  Fans weren’t giving him a standing ovation or anything, but I’m glad that he heard some noise from the fans.

Back then, the disgruntled star was Nomar, and the spunky newcomer was Orlando Cabrera, also rescued after spending his entire career in hapless baseball places. This trade immediately conjured similar thoughts, and the injection of energy Cabrera brought to the clubhouse has been equaled by Bay.

His negativity was clearly affecting a team struggling to find an identity, and his replacement - Orlando Cabrera - proved the perfect fit for the free-wheeling, Cowboy Up, self-proclaimed Idiot Red Sox. The fact that his glove was golden didn't hurt, either.

ng Alex Gonzalez a fraction of what Lugo is now swindling from John Henry's pockets? Wouldn’t Orlando Cabrera seem like a good fit about now? Nomar? (He played short the other day for the Dodgers.) What about John Valentin? Can we dig up his bones and cart him out there just to see what a shortstop with a set of hands looks like?
