Sox

tter about facing his old team ( though I kinda doubt that, since he always speaks glowingly of the Sox organization when he's interviewed about them)...or if it was a matter of probability and Masterson simply had to win a game sooner or later. Much in the same manner that Buckholz was due for a rough outing (if 3 runs over 7 innings can be considered rough)...

Ha. Perk makes the 1st! Drills the 2nd. Go Perk go.

No Sox game to really mention tonight during commercial interruptus. Sox lost in extra innings earlier today. Still, Lackey wasn't terrible, it was just an ugly game in on and off rain. The Orioles had to win a game sooner or later. Right?...ehhh, after Cameron's miraculous catch in the 9th, I will say the

I just finished watching Buckholz shut out the Orioles for the third time. Gotta love the "Sox in 2" games when they win.

So, before we talk about Buckholz, let's begin with Beltre. I'm not really sure if that Home run on one knee is his new signature move or not, but it is aweing to watch. Is he really turning on the ball that hard? Is he just off-balance and ending on one knee is a bad thing? What happens when the one knee swing ends up scraping the wall? Is he going to get himself thrown out at second? We'll have to wait until that happens to know. But, for now, it's the best home-run swing in baseball. Now Beltre, you really need to stop running into the left fielder. Did you learn nothing from Ellsbury? Hurting Hermida isn't as big a deal as Ellsbury, but you're going to hurt yourself on one of these crazy collisions. That would be horrible for this team.

e he literally hit from one knee was easily in the top 5 most impressive home runs I've seen from a Sox player, ever. It was like he was down on one knee, proposing to Sox Nation, hoping we'll finally accept him as a worthy replacement for our beloved Mike Lowell. Beltre, on behalf of Red

He pitched like the Dice-man that was advertised in '07. If he can do that consistently, the Sox will have the pitching staff that folks expected coming into this season.

Meanwhile, the Celtics essentially played by themselves in Cleveland. Lebron was all but absent from this game. 0-4 in the first half. Staring off into the crowd during team time-outs. Appearing winded on the court. Removing his "protective arm sleeve" and still throwing up LeBrick after LeBrick.

Boston teams (except the Bruins, who barely managed an over-time win)...It was good to see the Red Sox remember that Fenway is a hitters ball park on Monday night. It was good to see the Celtics infuriate the Cleveland fans, instead of infuriating me by blowing a ten point fourth quarter lead.

The Red Sox don't really need anymore starting pitching, I know that a lack of pitching was our demise a couple Octobers ago, but this time we mean it. Beckett, Matsuzaka, and Wakefield, the 3 starting pitchers who stayed healthy year round, all had 20, 15, and 17 wins, respectively. I'm not complaining. add in a returning Schilling and a more developed Lester, and we've got ourselves a rotation.
